Biography

Yuhe Chen’s creative journey began in childhood, inspired by a deep love for anime and an early passion for drawing. Those formative years, spent sketching beloved characters and exploring vibrant visual narratives, laid the groundwork for her lifelong pursuit of artistic expression. This passion naturally led her to study Visual Communication Design at Yonsei University in South Korea, where she not only honed her technical skills with design tools but also learned the power of storytelling through design.

While at Yonsei, Yuhe realized that great design isn’t solely about aesthetics—it also requires an understanding of how audiences think and what they need. This insight motivated her to broaden her horizons by pursuing Global Business Management at Humber College. There, she immersed herself in marketing strategies, consumer behaviour, and business analytics, seeking to understand the market forces behind successful design. After that, she applied this blend of creative and business acumen during a marketing and advertising internship, where bridged the gap between design and strategic marketing.

Inspired by these experiences, Yuhe decided to return to her creative roots while integrating her business insights, leading her to pursue a Master of Digital Media. She focused on using innovative digital technologies to create engaging user experiences and empower small and medium-sized enterprises through transformative digital solutions.

Why Digital Media?

I chose digital media because it represents the ideal intersection of creativity, technology, and strategic thinking—three elements that have shaped my personal and professional journey. From my early days drawing to my academic and internship experiences, I have seen how powerful visuals combined with smart strategy can transform user experiences. Pursuing Digital Media will allow me to deepen my technical expertise, master cutting-edge tools, and explore innovative storytelling techniques that respond to real-world challenges.
