Biography
In the crucible of ninth grade, Lavanya’s career course snapped into focus. When screens flickered with endless content, and everyone danced with the viral beats, Lavanya gauged the storytellers behind the pixels. She intended to build her digital narrative and rewire the studio of her skills. She is a creator with a deconstructive mindset and aesthetic sensibility. Before climbing a ladder, she would tear the parts and club the pieces from scratch. Content would never fascinate her; it was the creative apparatus she took to the bone. This fascination led her to pursue media studies in high school, laying the foundation for her future endeavors.
Driven by her passion, Lavanya earned a Bachelor's in Journalism Honors at the University of Delhi. But her education didn't stop at the classroom door. When she wouldn’t create, she’d learn; Lavanya devoured online courses on YouTube and Skillshare, culturing graphic design, social media marketing, and brand strategy.
Professionally, she worked as a visual designer at Centum Learning and later with Indian influencer, author, and entrepreneur Ankur Warikoo, treasuring the opportunity to express herself visually. However, her role as an Assistant Content Manager at KraftedX became a unique experience as she spearheaded a team of 12 creatives and managed content engines.
To broaden her perspective, she moved to Canada and completed a post-graduate diploma in Digital and Content Marketing from York University. Recognizing the rapid evolution of technology in media, Lavanya decided to pursue a Master of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University, eager to absorb cutting-edge fields like AR, VR, game design, and user experience design.
Why Digital Media?
Lavanya's choice to pursue digital media was less a decision and more a natural evolution of her lifelong passions. From the little girl who couldn't stop asking questions to the young professional addressing team queries, every step of her journey pointed toward digital media. It represents her love for communication and her fascination with technology. It's a realm where her natural extroversion can thrive, her curiosity can run wild, and her creative spirit can soar.
Lavanya understands that to truly make an impact in this field, one must be at the forefront of technological advancements. For her, mastering these skills is not just about staying relevant; it's about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in digital storytelling.
