Professor Emeritus Ed Slopek launches new exhibition "Five Uneasy Pieces"

On September 20th, 2025 the School of Image Arts played host to an exhibition in Gallery 310 titled "Five Uneasy Pieces" and a performance of musical compositions from the 22-song suite “Into This House We Are Born, Into This World We Are Thrown” by Image Arts Professor Emeritus Dr. Ed Slopek.

Despite his challenges living with Parkinson's, Ed worked with former students and advisees over many months to realize an exhibition of new artworks and a presentation of his recent original musical compositions performed by Johnny Spence.

The exhibition's opening reception served as an opportunity for the Image Arts community to get together and celebrate Ed’s lifelong career as an artist and educator alongside Ed's family and friends and honour his artistic, academic, and teaching careers.
