GCM First-Year Orientation 2023

Hello GCM class of 2027 student,
A very warm welcome to the GCM family! We hope you are excited to embark on this wonderful next chapter of your academic career. We're thrilled to have you! Please review the items below to prepare for your first-year orientation and the start of the Fall 2023 semester, which officially begins on Tue, Sep 5.
Dear First-Year Student,
On behalf of the School of Graphic Communications Management I would like to express how excited we are that you have chosen this program as part of your academic journey. As you may know, GCM is a special place, offering the only degree for management in the graphic arts in Canada. More than just the excellent academics, we have an environment in which every student matters. Your aspirations, the lessons you learn, the projects you create and the many great accomplishments you will achieve during your time here are all part of GCM’s decades of success — arguably the most important part.
As a graduate of the program myself, I remember how impactful my orientation was to my time at GCM. I was so nervous, and distinctly remember being overdressed (in fancy white pants). That day I met people who, 20 years later, continue to be my forever chosen family. At GCM you will find your people. People who care just as much as you do about stationary, beautiful packaging, magazines or the smell of a bookstore (to name a few GCM-isms). Together you will learn how to design, make and manage all things communications!
We cannot wait to see you fill the hallways of the Heidelberg Centre. Attending orientation is your first step toward an incredible four years. It really is the start of your career!
We hope you join us with an open mind and heart, ready to start becoming a future leader in our industry!
Warmly,
Natalia Lumby
Chair
