Memberships/ServicesMember of the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (YSGPS); Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program

Dr. Karamikamkar is an Assistant Professor at The Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), where she brings an interdisciplinary background in polymer engineering, advanced manufacturing, and biomedical science and engineering. Her research is centered on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for primary pharmaceutical packaging—such as microneedles, bioadhesive patches, and pre-filled syringes.

She is a member of the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (YSGPS) at TMU, affiliated with both the Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments.

Before joining TMU, Dr. Karamikamkar worked as a Process Specialist at Husky Technologies. She also held postdoctoral fellowships at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation, where she developed novel mRNA-loaded aerogel and xerogel microneedles, and at the University of Toronto, where she focused on graphene-enhanced aerogels for practical applications.

Dr. Karamikamkar is passionate about advancing meaningful, real-world innovation through strong industry-academic collaborations in healthcare packaging, materials science, and translational research.
