Spring 2022 Newsletter
Message from the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs
Dear colleagues,
As the end of the academic year nears, I would like to thank you for your collaboration, patience and flexibility as we navigated this transitional term. To say that the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the ways we teach, conduct research and learn would be an understatement. Through it all, I have admired your many accomplishments and continued commitment to students, one another and the university.
I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that we have two new appointments in the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs. We have hired two colleagues in the role of Director, Faculty Affairs: Brittany Tuer and Davina Chan.
In their new roles, Brittany and Davina will support the OVPFA in providing strategic advice related to the interpretation and application of academic collective agreements, university policies and relevant legislation. In addition, as an important part of our academic labour relations team, Brittany and Davina will work collaboratively with the administration and our labour partners to promote a positive and collegial working environment for our academic staff. Brittany took on her new role as of April 11 and Davina will join us on May 2.
As we approach the warmer months of the year, I encourage you to spend time with your family and friends, and to turn your focus to projects and research that you are passionate about. Most importantly, take some time for yourself to unplug and recharge when you can.
Should you have any questions or concerns over the spring and summer, please do not hesitate to be in touch. My office is committed to supporting you.
I sincerely wish you a successful, productive and healthy spring semester.
All my best,
Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano, PhD
