PhD engineering student Amanda Dy, awarded the prestigious Vanier Scholarship.
Congratulations to Electrical and Computer Engineering PhD student, Amanda Dy, on being named a 2025 Vanier Scholar by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s (NSERC) Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program. The prominent Vanier CGS recognizes doctoral students who have demonstrated exceptional research, leadership and scholarly achievement in their respective fields. With support from the program, Dy will continue on her research journey to evolve artificial intelligence cancer detection technologies and improve healthcare outcomes and patient care.
Dy has been leading innovative research alongside supervisor and professor April Khademi, developing artificial intelligence tools for Ki67 biomarker evaluation to improve breast cancer management. She also actively shares her insights and methodologies with peers; most recently, Dy presented artificial intelligence cancer research at the European Society of Digital and Integrative Pathology (ESDIP) Congress in Barcelona, having been named an International Travel Grant Awardee.
