Message from the Associate Dean
Dr. Stephen Waldman
Associate Dean, Research & External Partnerships
Building creative collaborations among students and faculty within the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science is essential for generating new insights that drive key partnerships with external organizations. So is developing multidisciplinary research studies and programs that bring different paradigms together. Both approaches actively advance Toronto Metropolitan University’s strategic vision of boldly confronting society’s most pressing challenges and creating new opportunities to improve lives.
The six research centres at our Faculty tackle real-world problems by joining forces with leading organizations, from industry and hospitals to community and government institutions. Both faculty and students contribute to our advances in entrepreneurship, urban energy, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, aerospace design, and infrastructure innovation. FEAS members also invent, build, and deliver solutions in partnership with industry leaders within our four zones: biomedical, clean energy, design fabrication and technology.
Students are the lifeblood of our Faculty and of this university, and we invest deeply and thoughtfully in their development and success. We support their unique research agendas or their work with faculty members who are leading the way, nationally and internationally, including our prestigious Canada Research Chairs. Altogether, we draw on our diversity of talent and perspectives to provoke thought, generate creativity, drive excellence and be agents of positive change.
