Deepa Nagari is a research assistant at CERC Migration on the To Naturalize or Not? project. She is also currently doing her PhD in the socio-legal studies program at York University. Her research focuses on laws and policies concerning forced migration, particularly examining the Canada-U.S. border and the Safe Third Country Agreement. Prior to this, Deepa obtained her MA from Carleton University in the department of Law and Legal Studies, where she also explored the Canada-U.S. border between 2016 and 2018 in her research. Previously, she worked in the private sector alongside IRCC before realizing her passion for academia and research.
