Important Dates and Deadlines
There are many dates and deadlines to remember when it comes to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Make sure to stay up to date.
This webpage is updated annually between May and July for the upcoming academic year. The deadline dates are for the fall and winter semesters only. For spring/summer deadline dates, visit Spring/Summer OSAP.
Deadlines and important dates can vary depending on your Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) status and your program. To help you meet these deadlines, we’ve outlined them below.
Here are some things to keep in mind to ensure smoother processing of your application:
- Processing Times: Documents that aren't received before the deadlines listed below won't be processed. Deadline dates are established by the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (external link) , which governs the OSAP program
- Faster and Secure Processing: All OSAP documents must be uploaded to your OSAP application on the OSAP portal (external link)
- Paper-Free Department: Student Financial Assistance is a paper-free department. Please scan and upload all of your documents to your OSAP portal. We don't accept documents that are dropped off, mailed or emailed

Bursary for Students With Disabilities (BSWD)
If you're a student with a permanent, prolonged or persistent disability and have applied for the BSWD, you may have additional deadlines depending on the grants you've applied to and what documents you're required to submit. If you're returning to full-time studies in the spring/summer and received full-time OSAP in the fall and/or winter terms, please submit a Spring/Summer OSAP extension request, not a brand-new OSAP application.

When you participate in the OSAP program, you're entering into a contract with the provincial and federal governments. Part of that contract states that you'll assume responsibility for maintaining your student loans, whether that means repaying your student loans when you officially enter repayment, or establishing interest-free status when you're continuing studies.

- To be eligible for CIFS, you must be currently enrolled in a full-time course load and have previous full-time OSAP loans
- To be eligible for Schedule 2, you must be currently enrolled in a part-time course load and have previous part-time OSAP loans
