What Is OSAP?
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a government financial aid program made up of grants and loans that can help you pay for school.
If you live in Ontario and are thinking about, or have already applied to Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), you’ve probably heard about the Ontario Student Assistance Program, also known as OSAP.
OSAP can be a deciding factor in attending post-secondary. We never want finances to be a barrier to education, so we’re going to break down the OSAP process and make it as easy as possible for you. It can get confusing, so remember that we’re here to help. Connect with an OSAP advisor through the ServiceHub for help navigating this process.
OSAP is a government financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university. There are 2 types of funding available:
Grants: Money for your time in school that you don’t have to pay back.
Loans: Money you pay back starting 6 months after you finish school.
While OSAP can be made up of grants and loans, you don’t have to accept the loan portion. You can use OSAP to help pay for your tuition, books and other school fees.
