Yosef Moustafa

Yosef Moustafa is a Master's student in the Data Science & Analytics program at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research focuses on detecting AI-generated images in immigration-related social media content, examining how synthetic imagery circulates on social media platforms and its implications for immigrant communities. Conducted under the supervision of the Social Media Lab at TMU, his work bridges image forensics with migration research to equip researchers with more robust tools for identifying synthetic content. As a Bridging Divides Graduate Stipend recipient, Yosef aims to apply the latest advances in artificial intelligence to generate real-world impact and promote social justice.
