Balikca Visvalingam
Balikca Visvalingam is a Master of Science in Management, Health Services Management student at Toronto Metropolitan University, where her research examines how digital health technologies can reduce barriers to care for underserved and immigrant populations. Her work focuses on equity-centered approaches to telehealth and patient-provider communication, with attention to the roles of health literacy, language, and socioeconomic factors in shaping access to digital care.
Balikca has research experience at the University Health Network, where she contributed to the evaluation of Integrated Care programs, and has also examined pharmacy assistant–pharmacist working relationships at Humber Polytechnic. Drawing on both research and community engagement experience, Balikca aims to pursue a career in healthcare consulting and applied research, advancing digital health interventions that promote equity in Canadian healthcare systems.
