Michelle Andrina
Michelle is a PhD candidate in Policy Studies, specializing in Immigration, Settlement, and Diaspora, at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her doctoral research challenges the "left-behind" narrative by examining the lived experiences of children in transnational families. Specifically, she explores their active roles within care circulation and how these responsibilities shape their academic performance and future aspirations in Indonesia.
Michelle currently serves as a Research Assistant for the ICCRP Ethics Working Group. Prior to her doctoral studies, she was a quantitative researcher at the SMERU Research Institute, a leading institution for poverty and inequality research in Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia and a Master’s in Public Policy from the School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) Indonesia.
