Marie-Pier Joly

Marie-Pier Joly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University. Her research examines the impacts of precarious legal status on health, labor market experiences, and wellbeing. Her earlier work explored how the socio-political conditions of departure affects migrants’ long-term emotional health.

Prior to joining Concordia University, she was a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen in Germany. Her current work explores the effects of immigration policies on precarious legal status families in Canada, with a particular focus on Québec.
