The upcoming season will once again collaborate with TMU’s School of Fashion, offering students and alumni opportunities with one of Canada’s most prominent fashion television productions.

The partnership reflects TMU’s strong connection to the Canadian fashion industry and its commitment to experiential learning. In season one, production took place across TMU facilities, including studios within the School of Fashion (opens in new window) , School of Performance (opens in new window) , Chrysalis (opens in new window) , and the Design + Technology LAB (opens in new window) . The collaboration provided students with hands-on roles supporting production and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the show.

“Project Runway Canada plays an important role in elevating the visibility of Canadian fashion and supporting the sector’s growth on the global stage. At TMU, we sit at the intersection of fashion, media, and creative production, and collaborations like this give our students the opportunity to contribute to a major fashion media production while working alongside industry professionals. It’s an important way of connecting learning with real-world production,” says Joseph Medaglia, Chair of the School of Fashion at TMU.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, TMU’s School of Fashion is one of Canada’s leading fashion programs, known for its strong ties to the industry. Collaborations like Project Runway Canada help bridge the classroom and the professional world, bringing students into direct contact with designers, producers, and creative leaders working across fashion and media.

Season 2 of Project Runway Canada will see designers compete in a series of creative challenges for the title of Canada’s Next Great Designer and a career-launching investment of $100,000.

Host and judge Coco Rocha returns for the new season, joined by judges Jeanne Beker and Spencer Badu, with Aurora James returning as mentor to the designers. Production begins this summer in Toronto, with the new season debuting on Crave later this year.

Casting for Season 2 is now open for designers across Canada. More information about the application process is available at: https://www.projectrunwaycanadacasting.ca/ (external link, opens in new window)
