On the horizon: Several perspectives on Canada's technology future - 2030–35

National Research Council's Horizon Report is out. Cybersecurity Research Lab's Director, Dr. Atefeh Mashatan, was among the 40 Canadian experts invited by the NRC to identify the major challenges and opportunities that Canada will need to implement in the next 10 to 15 years.

Illustrative examples from the cybersecurity section include:

  • Canadian governments and businesses “harden” their expanding digital infrastructure by making its resilience the top priority.
  • Canada maximizes the benefits of the information economy and society by combining technological innovation for data security with policies to build trust by safeguarding privacy.
  • Thanks to its reputation as a trusted and technologically advanced jurisdiction, Canada becomes a leading global hub for international data flows.
