The safety net built for riders.
Every day in cities like Toronto delivery couriers deal with traffic, bad weather and long hours to keep our communities running. They bring food, groceries and essential supplies to thousands of homes. But behind every delivery is a worker who usually has no insurance, no support system and no safety net. When a bike gets stolen or a courier gets hurt, income stops right away. For many that means choosing between paying rent or fixing the only tool they have to earn a living.
I saw this problem up close while talking to riders who shared stories of crashes, stolen e-bikes and days without income with nobody to turn to. Platforms rely on these workers but traditional insurance systems don’t support them. A growing workforce is being left out and couriers deserve better.
That’s why I started Ribenn: to give delivery couriers real protection and peace of mind. Our first product, RiderCare, provides affordable financial support, emergency repair help and trusted bike shop partners. So when something goes wrong, riders aren’t alone and they don’t lose their income overnight.
Today RiderCare has a growing waitlist of riders and repair partners who believe in this mission. We’ve already connected with hundreds of couriers in our community and we’re just getting started. Our goal is to build the next generation of protection and benefits for gig-economy workers.
