Marion Coomey

Marion Coomey’s background is in broadcast journalism.  Before coming to Toronto Met, she worked for several years with the CBC as a TV and radio reporter, producer, host, interviewer and writer for news and current affairs programs. Marion has continued working as a freelancer with the CBC since starting at Toronto Met in 1992.

Marion co-ordinates the fourth year internship program with the RTA School of Media, helping 150 students each year find work placements. She currently teaches: On Air Presentation Skills, International Media Production, TV Broadcast Journalism, Feature and Entertainment Reporting. She has also taught: Documentary Production, Media Writing, Information Gathering and Audio Production.

Marion is interested in international collaboration. She designed and developed a program called the Global City. Students from around the world work together to produce current affairs programs and, through the use of innovative technology, host the shows live, online.
