Owais Lightwala Launches Sai - The financial technology start-up for freelance artists
Performance Production + Design faculty member Owais Lightwala is the Co-founder and CEO of Sai (external link) . Sai is a financial technology start-up on a mission to help artists and creatives take charge of their money. The software helps simplify and visualize tax filing with user-friendly design at the forefront of everything we create. Sai aims to remove the stress and confusion artists face when it comes to all things money.
As a professor of creative entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation - Sai is me applying research on entrepreneurship and innovation in the real world, which is also something I encourage my students to constantly do. Get out of the classroom and go make something and share it with the world! You can only learn so much in theory and rest you have to learn by actually doing and putting yourself out there.
