Sarah Kitz directs acting students in Eurydice
The School of Performance is honoured to welcome guest artist Sarah Kitz (she/they) to direct Sarah Ruhl's celebrated version of Eurydice. The production features members of the third year acting class in their first public-facing, tex-based work. Production + Design students from all four years of the program also share their work on this production, with support from design mentor Brian Dudkiewicz, and stage management mentor, Sam Hale.
The production will be presented online March 23 and 26, 2022. Details to follow.
Sarah Kitz
Sarah (she/they) is a director, creator, actor and coach. She has participated in directing programs at Stratford and Shaw Festivals, and is a member of Directors Lab North in participation with Lincoln Centre. She has worked at Luminato, Shakespeare In The Ruins, Tarragon, Theatre Passe Muraille, Crow's Theatre, Canadian Stage, Next Stage Festival, SummerWorks, Pandemic Theatre, GCTC, The Canadian Music Theatre Project at Sheridan College, University of Windsor, and across Canada. She’s mentored with Paprika Festival and been extensively involved with The AMY Project, which supports the creative trajectories of young women and non-binary youth in Toronto through arts mentorship. In 2017, Sarah was awarded Crow's Theatre's RBC Emerging Director Prize. To date, Sarah's twin focus lies in re-visioning classical works for contemporary interpretation, and in new creation. She is the Interim Artistic Director for Great Canadian Theatre Company.
