Fees & Funding

In the Department of Mathematics, successful domestic applicants are offered generous funding packages along with admission.

Funding Packages

$22k+ yearly MSc funding*

$26k+ yearly PhD funding*

*As funding may be subject to change, past funding levels are not guaranteed.

Funding sources: Funding packages may comprise a combination of awards and scholarships(internal and external), stipends from supervising faculty members, and Graduate Assistant (GA) employment. Learn more about graduate funding.

Student Financial Assistance: Get information about student loans and emergency bursaries through the Student Financial Assistance office.

Department of Mathematics Scholarships

Our department offers several scholarships specific to mathematics students. These are offered on a competitive basis. Please contact the department for more information or help to apply.

Geoff Boyes was a professor in our former Department of Math, Physics and Computer Science in the 1970’s and 80’s. In leaving a planned gift to Toronto Metropolitan University, Geoff wanted to help students with financial need, and international students where possible.

The Geoff Boyes Award is given to a student in the MSc in Applied Mathematics Program. To apply, a student must:

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Achieve one of the highest CGPA in at least four of the department’s graduate courses in the first two terms of the program

Tuition & Fees
