Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Undergraduate Degree Programs
Toronto Metropolitan University’s Arts and Contemporary Studies (ACS) program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree that brings together the humanities and social sciences to help students understand and engage the contemporary world. ACS combines critical inquiry with applied learning and skills development.
Students may complete 1 of 3 optional concentrations:

- Global Studies

The Language and Intercultural Relations (LIR) program at Toronto Metropolitan University invites students to explore the world and its diverse cultures through language study, intercultural communication and experiential learning. Attain proficiency in negotiating linguistic and intercultural diversity in the workplace and the world.
Students chose 1 of 3 program streams:

- Spanish
- Speech Science

A Minor is an opportunity for undergraduate students to explore an area of interest beyond their degree program. Course Spotlight: LIR 208 Skateboarding as a Cultural Bridge
LIR 208: Skateboarding as a Cultural Bridge Professor, John Barnes, giving a talk at The Summit Medway Open (external link) , an annual event that partners skateboarding with the urban arts in order to encourage youth to connect their passions with purpose.

Continuing Education Courses and Certificates
We offer Arabic, ASL, Chinese, French, and Spanish courses for learners through The Chang School of Continuing Education. The Chang School offers university level courses in which students acquire and develop a wide range of skills in languages, which can be used for success in the marketplace or as credit toward a university degree.
The Chang School certificate programs available to undergraduate students and part-time learners include Business French and Translation, Proficiency in French, and Proficiency in Spanish.
