What to expect

Through this candle-making workshop, we share knowledge, spark curiosity and honour the idea that learning can be hands-on, reflective and rooted in both tradition and innovation.

About the organizers/team

This workshop is hosted by STOODIS Science, a SciXchange initiative at Toronto Metropolitan University in partnership with the Indigenous Education Council and Ceremonials, Indigenous Events and Special Projects. Together, we create space for community, creativity and connection—a place where science and Indigenous ways of knowing meet in a good way.

This event is part of Treaties Recognition Week

This event is part of Indigenous Education and Treaties Recognition Week at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

Programming throughout the week aims to deepen understanding of Indigenous experiences, treaty rights and treaty relationships in Canada, all contributing to the broader work toward reconciliation.

Treaties Recognition Week honours the importance of treaties, empowering students, faculty and staff with greater awareness and understanding of their relevance today. In 2016, Ontario passed the first legislation (external link)  of its kind in Canada, declaring the first full week of November as Treaties Recognition Week.

Accessibility

The university is committed to the accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities. If you require any additional accessibility accommodations to ensure your full participation, please let us know in the registration form.
