If a picture is worth a thousand words, then music is worth that and so much more. Metadata matters because it gives structure and meaning to all our content in which we interact; music included. Metadata tells you where your content came from, where it is going and how it can be accessed, and ultimately used. Moreover, metadata is about meaning, and must change with societal norms in a respectful and inclusive manner.

This webinar will feature an overview of the power of language and metadata in musical creation, access, use, and distribution, and examples of how to manage music metadata for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Live captioning will be available during the event.
