Asli Nur
Asli Nur is a PhD student in Urban Health at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a Master of Public Health in Black Health from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Urban Agriculture from the Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research examines how urban agriculture, particularly community gardens, can support food security, mental well-being, and social connection in urban environments.
Asli has experience in community-engaged research, co-design processes, and knowledge mobilization across several health equity initiatives. Her work has contributed to projects focused on maternal and perinatal child health, sickle cell disease, and research within the healthcare system addressing both communicable and non-communicable conditions. She works collaboratively with healthcare teams, community organizations, and researchers to support knowledge exchange and more equitable approaches to health and wellbeing.
Her broader interests sit at the intersection of public health, urban environments, and community-driven approaches to improving health in cities.
