Project Report Launch: Leveraging Community Arts for Immigrant Integration

Please join us for a community gathering where we will share both the journey of our research study and its results. Focusing on Mabelle Arts’ Welcome to the Neighborhood (WTTN) program, Leveraging Community Arts for Immigrant Integration is a collaborative research project between CERC in Migration at TMU and the community arts agency, Mabelle Arts.

We will share our experiences, research methods, key findings and recommendations-with the objective of highlighting the important role and impact of community arts on immigrant integration for immigrants in general, and also specifically in relation to the experiences of newcomer artists in the GTA.

We bring together in this Gathering the following groups to explore with us our learnings from the research: research participants and researchers interested in the arts and in creative practices in migration and other social sciences; community arts agency partners and settlement sector service providers; artists, practitioners and decision makers from the arts sector, and others who have been engaged members of the Mabelle Arts community.

Together, through discussion and using arts-activities, we will consider action steps that can be a way forward, for us to imagine pathways that can help create solutions to some of the challenges identified through this research.
