This workshop is hosted by the Bridging Divides research program and open to all interested individuals affiliated with Bridging Divides, as well as all Concordia University graduate students. The workshop is facilitated by Lee Chapman, Toronto Metropolitan University.
Graduate students and early career scholars who want to apply to the Bridging Divides Annual Conference Poster Competition are especially encouraged to join the workshop.
This interactive workshop introduces best practices in research poster design, with a focus on clear communication and effective knowledge mobilization. Participants will learn the basics of visual literacy, how to condense complex research into a clear narrative, and how to design posters that are engaging, accessible, and appropriate for their discipline.
The session will also cover key design principles, practical tips, and free tools and resources to help participants visually communicate their research with impact.
This workshop will be facilitated by Lee Chapman, Multimedia and Graphic Designer at the TMU Library.
More about the poster competition
As part of the Bridging Divides Annual Conference (external link) , the Institute for Research on Migration and Society at Concordia University is hosting a poster competition (external link) to provide students and early-career researchers with an opportunity to present emerging research, receive feedback from an interdisciplinary audience, and engage with scholars, practitioners, and policymakers working on migration, technology and social inclusion. Posters can focus on Bridging Divides research, or individual graduate research projects.
Open to all graduate students and early career scholars affiliated with Bridging Divides, and all Concordia University graduate students.
The abstract submission deadline for the poster competition is March 20, 2026.
