Saagajiwe is honored to announce A Celebration of Indigenous Renaissance. This event is in recognition of Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day, illuminating the significance of Indigenous Heritage and Resilience. This event is an invitation to join hands in understanding, remembrance, and celebration of the enduring spirit of Indigenous communities.

The event includes:
- Exclusive Talk: Join Dr. Michael Doxstaot and Residential School Survivor Bill Sands from Walpole Island First Nation as they share their personal experiences and insights.

- Film Screening: “Going Back to the Blanket” - A documentary by Mohawk film-maker Thohahoken Michael Doxtater in 1988 - on the frontier of the Apology for Indian Residential Schools era.

- Interactive Q&A Session: An opportunity for attendees to engage, ask questions, and foster deeper connections and understanding with the Indigenous community.

Saagajiwe encourages all community members, educators, students, and media to partake in this enriching experience. Together, we can stand in solidarity, educate ourselves, and move forward on the path of truth and reconciliation.
