Summary

Digital communication and transformation are possible universally due to exponential advancement in the Internet of things. So, while remaining in their environment, everyday devices or objects autonomously interact with each other in a wireless channel without human intervention while managing private sensitive or safety critical data of the users. These devices help users to access personalized services intelligently and allow their real-world sensitive data to be shared among all the integrated devices in a volatile environment and that exposes its high priority security and privacy issues. Particularly, it endangers low cost devices in the IoT ecosystem like RFID networks, due to its infeasibility to implement computationally intensive cryptographic algorithms. To resolve this issue, in this talk, I will present my way forward in developments of cryptographic algorithms that provide security and privacy enhancing solutions for such devices. In the second phase of the talk, I will discuss a novel biometric based lightweight user authentication system that provides users personalized services securely, safely and efficiently.
