The SVZ is Hiring!
The Social Ventures Zone is currently searching for a dynamic and enthusiastic Ryerson University student to join our team this Fall semester. As a Marketing and Social Media Assistant, you will work closely with The Social Ventures Zone's Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure The SVZ brand is well represented on all online channels. This includes writing news stories for our newsletters, designing and producing digital graphics, and ensuring our social media channels are up to date.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work with the SVZ team and generate new ideas for marketing and student engagement
-Assist with maintaining the SVZ’s social media presence and craft compelling messaging on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Mailchimp
- Collaborate on building SVZ’s Social Media Fall/Winter content calendar
- Assist with creating and optimizing external and internal weekly community newsletters
- Collaborate on creating and producing invitations, posters, promotional cards and other creative projects for internal or external use, using Adobe Creative Suite
- Maintain SVZ blog and collaborate with founders to draft blog posts, conduct research and interviews to draft stories
- Represent the Social Ventures Zone as an enthusiastic student ambassador, actively participating in initiatives requiring student representation, such as community events or social media takeovers
- Assist with event or workshop setup, and preparing name tags, itineraries
- Liaise with founders to ensure all their forms are up to date and completed
- Maintain SVZ space and common area, keeping track of supplies and inventory
- If available on Friday mornings, assist with setting up for Caffeinated Innovators
