Student Honours & Awards

Every year, Ryerson students are recognized widely for their SRC impacts and achievements. Here are just a few highlights. 

Faculty of Arts

PhD student Charlie Wall-Andrews (Policy Studies) was named a Trudeau Scholar, a prestigious doctoral award provided by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.

Faculty of Communication and Design

Journalism students Sarah ChewKatie SwyersMartha Currie and Stephanie Liu received an Amnesty International Canada Media Award for their documentary film about sex trafficking. 

Faculty of Community Services

Urban and Regional Planning students Shannon Doyle and Holly Monkman each won Housing Research Awards from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to undertake research in northern or remote areas.

Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science

Master’s candidates in architecture Marie-Hélèn LesiègeMateusz Bledowski and Kate Korotayeva were awarded first-place amongst hundreds of applicants at the Milan Fashion Pavillion Competition. 

Faculty of Science

Master’s candidate Caroline John (Environmental Science and Management) and PhD candidate Edward (Evan) Millar (Environmental Science and Management) are the 2020 recipients of the Geoffrey F. Bruce Fellowship in Canadian Freshwater Policy.

Ted Rogers School of Management

Chris Chai-tang (Graphic Communications Management) was the winner of the 2019 Printing Competition at the Seoul Printing Awards Festival held in South Korea.
