First 10/Next 10

TMU campus quad

It’s been 10 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) report. Join us as we reflect on what has been accomplished at TMU and how we can continue advancing reconciliation in the years ahead.

What to expect

This session will introduce First 10/Next 10, a campus-wide call to action inviting all TMU groups, units, faculties, and departments  to share their contributions to reconciliation through digital posters, marking the tenth anniversary of the TRC report.

Learn how to use the poster templates to highlight your work, with examples and submission guidelines to be shared and discussed. There will also be time to begin working on your poster with on-site support available. Bring your laptop if you’d like to get started.

First 10/Next 10 is more than just a way to showcase the work of our community. It’s a way to foster lasting learning and action toward reconciliation, and how to continue working for a better way forward.

Digital posters will be displayed at a variety of events from Orange Shirt Day to the end of Treaty Education Week 2025.

This event is part of Mzawe Kiing Anishinaabek Giizis | National Indigenous Peoples Month.

This month is a time for self-education, with a number of opportunities to celebrate and reflect on the contributions of Indigenous Peoples to the university community and beyond.

Aambe Bizhaak! / All are welcome!
