A poet, art historian, curator, translator, and editor specializing in Latinx and Latin Ameri-can art, Tejada is the author of the full-length poetry and poetics collections Still Nowhere in an Empty Vastness (2019), Full Foreground (2012), Exposition Park (2010), and Mirrors for Gold (2006), as well as the poetry chapbooks Amulet Anatomy (2001) and Gift & Verdict (1999). He founded and coedited the journal Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas. Tejada is the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of English and Cre-ative Writing at the University of Houston, Texas.
