Diane Querrien is a professor of French as a Second Language and Language Teaching and Learning at Concordia University, and Co-Director of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (CSLP). Her work focuses on educational linguistics, plurilingual approaches, French language acquisition, and pedagogy in postsecondary education, including active learning and universal design for learning (UDL). She examines the intersections between pedagogical innovation, context-responsive educational initiatives that address learner needs, and teacher education in all its forms. She received the Van-der-Maren Award in qualitative research and currently leads several funded projects on plurilingualism and postsecondary language education, including AI. She has contributed to provincial working groups on inclusive and intercultural competencies in education (OFDE) and collaborated with teachers and pedagogical advisors in both research and professional development settings. More recently, she has designed a multimodal and more inclusive French learning pathway tailored to the needs of university learners.
