Let’s Talk Science: Contact Sports (High School Event)

Overview:
Designed for high school students interested in learning more about STEM and possible career paths, the Let's Talk Health Symposia series highlights the intersection of health research with various subjects in science and math. Each event is independent. Students are welcome to sign up for one or multiple events.
Instructor and Description:
The future of contact sports is exciting! This event will consist of a concussion presentation by the Toronto Metropolitan University Concussion Legacy Foundation Chapter, followed by an interactive workshop by our guest speaker: Brian Bulcke, former CFL player and Partner at Play4Tomorrow. The audience will have the opportunity to work together virtually through an exciting challenge and use their problem solving skills.
Format:
1 hour - short presentation followed by Q&A with a Health researcher.
1 hour - activity highlighting a health concept within the respective subject.
*Some events may take 2.5 hours to allow for more activity time.
Technical Requirements:
- Event will be facilitated through Zoom
- Participants must have access to a personal device (laptop/tablet) in order to participate
