Bachelor of Commerce, Finance '21

My experience in the SAF program was transformative, shaping both my academic focus and career direction. The Principles of Finance III course with Dr. Yi Feng was especially meaningful, as it was the first time I fundamentally valued a stock, prompting my shift of specialization from accounting to finance. Derivatives and Ethics in Finance with Dr. Goss further bridged theory and practice by connecting students with industry professionals across banking, hedge funds, and venture capital.

Beyond the classroom, I represented TMU as a finalist in the 2024 National Investment Banking Competition and held leadership roles in Investa Insights (largest North American intercollegiate investment club across leading business universities) and the Ted Rogers' Student Managed Investment Fund as an equity analyst and portfolio manager across multiple sectors. I also worked as a research assistant for Professor Claire Deng, where we published and defended a paper on Performance Measurement Systems in Wildlife Conservations NGOs at the 2025 Canadian Academic Accounting Association Conference.

Professionally, I completed three consecutive co-op terms at Fidelity Investments in Financial Analysis, Corporate Affairs, and Portfolio Solutions, and passed the CFA Level I exam with the CFA Society Toronto Scholarship. After graduation, I will be joining Fidelity Investments' newly established Portfolio Solutions team as its first junior hire, an experience that will further solidify my interest in investment research and model portfolios.
