Overall, I’m extremely grateful for the resources and opportunities the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) provided throughout my degree. The co-op program gave me an early glimpse into professional life — including a KPMG Audit co-op — and helped me build confidence in real workplace environments, which supported my transition into my current full-time role at KPMG in Transaction Services (M&A). I really valued the hands-on learning through SMIF and stayed actively involved outside the classroom as part of the RUAS (Accounting Society) case team and as an investment analyst at Investa Insights. Case competitions were another highlight of my SAF journey: I competed in ACHIEVE 2022, Investa Insights 2023 (3rd place), Battle on Bay 2024, and NIBC 2025 (Finalist). Beyond the experiences themselves, SAF’s events and community helped me build a strong network and a circle of like-minded peers who became long-term friends.
One of the most rewarding courses in my academic journey was FIN 65 – Applied Investment Management. As an Equity Analyst covering the Utilities, Real Estate & Materials sector, I strengthened my equity research, valuation, and investment analysis skills through practical, real-world decision-making. I also completed Bloomberg Certificate courses, which helped connect classroom concepts to market tools and industry workflows.
