Overview

Dr. Alan Kaplan is a member of the Finance team at the School of Accounting and Finance at the Ted Rogers School of Management.  His main responsibilities are teaching, course and program development, and various administrative tasks in the department.  Alan believes in an inclusive classroom where students are encouraged and feel safe in contributing and participating.  He also believes that the university experience should be about much more than just getting a degree.  Consequently, Dr. Kaplan is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities that help promote student life and where possible, staff and faculty life on campus.  For example, Alan regularly trains the Finance case competition teams for intercollegiate competitions, serves as the Faculty Advisor to Hillel, a Jewish Student Group on campus, and sits on a variety of Department, Faculty, and University committees.
