The 2026 Brampton Innovator Program is a 5-week market research and validation journey designed to help entrepreneurs transform bold ideas into Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). With in-person workshops in Downtown Brampton and hybrid mentorship, founders gain the structure, tools, and ecosystem support needed to build scalable tech businesses

Whether you’re a corporate professional ready to step into entrepreneurship or a first-time founder with a bold idea, this program provides the structure, mentorship, and ecosystem support to help you take the leap.

Program Overview

Market Research Workshops

 

Gain exclusive insights into market research and customer discovery with expert-led workshops. Learn how to analyze market trends, identify your ideal customers, and refine your business strategy to maximize impact and growth.

 

Basics of Lean Canvas

 

Introductory sessions on the basic fundamentals of completing a lean canvas to efficiently develop a one-page business plan.

 

 

 

Mentorship & Community

 

Weekly open office hours with BVZ Program Leads and opportunities to connect with like-minded peers and community. Access to the Brampton Innovation District (external link)  network. 

 

 

Up to $5000 in Grants for Participants:

Individuals or teams who register for the Brampton Innovator Program will be able to apply for program grants. There will be up to 10 grants available, each grant will be valued at up to $500, to be used for reimbursement of business expenses, with no strings attached - no equity or intellectual property taken in return.

Program Timeline & Format

 

  • Duration: 5 weeks for each track
  • Entrecurious Track: January 2026 – February 2026
  • MVP Builder Track: February 2026 – March  2026
  • Application Deadline: November 30th, 2025
  • Format: In-person workshops (Downtown Brampton) & hybrid mentorship

Who Can Apply?

 

We’re looking for individuals or small teams who are:

  • Based in Brampton or Peel Region (or committed to launching here).
  • Innovators in HealthTech, Mobility, Logistics, FinTech, or Enabling Tech (AI, SaaS, XR, Digital Solutions).

At one of two stages:

  • Entrecurious Track: For those with just an idea who need a framework OR for those who don't have an idea but are interested in meeting founders/tech enthusiasts
  • MVP Builder Track: For those with a prototype or near-MVP who want to validate and scale

Expected Program Outcomes

 

  • Identify a specific industry problem to pursue and validate
  • Complete phase one of your business model canvas
  • Learn the fundamentals of primary and secondary market research
  • Understand how to define your target audience
  • Develop data-driven market assumptions to validate
  • Begin user interviews to accelerate market validation 
  • Build your personal founder network from a community of entrepreneurs, innovators, industry partners and startup ecosystem builders
