First Brampton Innovator Program Wraps Up!
The Brampton Innovator Program (external link) , powered by Brampton Venture Zone by TMU, has officially wrapped up its first successful cohort — a milestone moment for entrepreneurship, incubators, and tech startups in our community.
This market validation program was designed to help aspiring founders and early-stage entrepreneurs transform bold ideas into validated business models, with access to mentorship, community networks, and opportunities for non-dilutive funding.
The closing celebration on July 16 gathered founders, ecosystem leaders, and community partners to spotlight innovation in Brampton. Opening remarks from John MacRitchie (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Councillor Gurpartap Singh Toor highlighted the city’s commitment to supporting startup growth. A powerful founder panel featuring Shri Paramsothy (Transpots (external link) ), Yvonne Osagie (MedMelanin (external link) ), and Peter Chung & Imraj Sidhu (Axle (external link) ) shared firsthand insights into building and scaling ventures.
The evening also marked an exciting announcement: 12 entrepreneurs were awarded grants to accelerate their startup journeys. These recipients reflect the creativity, resilience, and ambition that define Brampton’s growing innovation ecosystem.
This first cohort is just the beginning — and we’re excited to continue building a launchpad for the next generation of tech startups and founders right here in Brampton.
