Image Arts Film Professor and Program Director Karen Harnisch has been named in The Hollywood Reporter’s prestigious list of Most Influential Women in International Film (external link, opens in new window) . Recognized as “one of Canada’s most trusted indie producers,” Harnisch continues to shape the future of cinema both on campus and beyond. As Co-President of Film Forge (external link, opens in new window) , the Toronto-based production company she co-founded with alum Andrew Cividino, she brings real-world expertise to the classroom while championing diverse and innovative storytelling. The honour celebrates Harnisch’s impact on the global film industry and her ongoing role in mentoring the next generation of filmmakers at The Creative School.
“Being recognized by the Hollywood Reporter amongst a group of women in film who I admire deeply is so meaningful to me. Producing is not an easy calling, and the challenges faced by our industry in recent years have further complicated how movies get made,” Harnisch says.
