The Creative School's newest hub helps students turn their creative passion into successful careers
The Creative School’s Innovation Studio has officially rebranded as the Creative Enterprise Hub, signaling a broader focus on equipping students with the skills and industry connections needed for a thriving career in the creative sector. This name change reflects the Hub’s growing role in bridging the gap between academic learning and professional success for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Turning Creative Skills Into a Thriving Career
Located at 110 Bond St, the Creative Enterprise Hub continues to offer resources and programming focused on three core areas: career preparedness, personal development, and entrepreneurship readiness. Since 2013, the space has incubated 422 companies and projects, created 1,300 jobs, and raised over $38 million in equity funding.
As the home to three specialized creative zones—Design Fabrication, Fashion, and Transmedia—the Hub fosters innovation by providing students with industry-grade tools, expertise, and mentorship to bring creative concepts to life. From career advice and portfolio development to launching a startup, the initiative serves as a key resource for students at every stage of their professional journey.

“The Creative Enterprise Hub is designed to transform the way students approach their futures,” says Robert Ott, Director of the Creative Enterprise Hub. “Moving beyond the Innovation Studio’s original mission, we’re creating a space where creativity meets an enterprising mindset, and every student can explore paths to personal and professional success, whether through mentorship, career advice, or turning a cool idea into a thriving business.”

Empowering the Next Generation of Creatives
To mark the rebrand, two exciting event series will launch this fall. The first, DAMN!?, offers informal talks with alumni and students about landing dream internships or starting side hustles. Meanwhile, MENTOR MATTERS focuses on the crucial role of mentorship in fostering professional growth.
The space is also expanding partnerships with initiatives like the Launchpad, a dedicated space for career planning, in collaboration with the Career Centre.

Evolving To Meet Demands in the Creative Economy
The hub’s ecosystem is essential in today’s booming creative industries. With much of the growth happening in creative services and cultural production, a pillar of the hub is teaching career self-management and employability to help students succeed in project-based work.
With its new name and expanded mandate, the Creative Enterprise Hub solidifies its role as the go-to space for establishing a successful creative career.
