Creative Industries students cross the stage at Canadian University Dubai
Students enrolled in the Creative Industries program at Canadian University Dubai crossed the convocation stage on May 11, marking the first graduating cohort of the program. The partnership between The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has developed over the past five years to offer the first-ever business and creative leadership program of its kind in the United Arab Emirates. Currently, there are over 150 students enrolled in the program.

CUD has been recognized as Dubai’s top university for art & design and business & management studies by the 2024 QS World University Rankings, positioning the institution and its students at the forefront of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the United Arab Emirates,” said Robert Ott, Associate Dean of Strategic Projects. “The Creative School is proud to collaborate with CUD to foster an environment of academic excellence, diversity and global citizenship.”

The innovative interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts degree seamlessly integrates multiple creative fields. Students benefit from a unique set of practical learning opportunities, including exploring creative entrepreneurship, securing an industry internship. Additionally, the program features the exciting option to spend two years in Canada, further enriching the educational experience.
Expanding international experiences
This partnership with Canadian University Dubai establishes the Creative School’s fourth international hub, enhancing our global network. As the Dubai Hub continues to grow, students can look forward to a variety of international opportunities, such as studying at the TMU campus via a study abroad program in Toronto and engaging in short-term intensives in Cortona and London. In addition to enhancing the student experience, the Dubai hub will also serve as a catalyst for research and innovation.
