How to apply

Two women are talking. One is smiling and looking at the other woman, whose back is partially to the camera.

The 2026 admissions cycle opens for application July 10 and closes October 1, 2025, at 4:30 PM ET.

Apply via Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS)

Applications to the TMU School of Medicine’s MD Program are only accepted through the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) (external link)  by the application deadline. Documents sent directly to the TMU School of Medicine will not be considered.

OMSAS is a centralized application service for all Ontario medical schools and is administered by the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC), a division of the Council of Ontario Universities. Please note that each medical school operates independently and is solely responsible for its own admission decisions.

The OMSAS application period opens in July each year, with a deadline in early October, for admission in the fall of the intended year of enrollment. To apply, applicants are required to register for an OUAC account, or may use an existing account.

Important Note: Any applications that are missing required documentation will be considered incomplete and will not be considered further in the admissions selection process.

Application fees

The OMSAS application service fee for the 2026 admissions cycle is $220. This one-time fee is paid once per admissions cycle, regardless of the number of Ontario medical schools to which an applicant applies.

Applicants are required to pay a university fee for each medical school to which they apply. The fee to apply to the TMU School of Medicine is $130.

All fees are accepted via the OMSAS portal and are non-refundable. Applicants who do not pay the required fees before the application deadline will not have their application forwarded to TMU by OMSAS.

Transcript fees

Applicants are required to submit official transcripts for each university, college, CEGEP, junior college, graduate school or other postsecondary or professional institution attended.

Ontario Medical School Application Fee Waiver Program

The TMU School of Medicine participates in the Ontario Medical School Application Fee Waiver Program, which was developed to support medical school applicants facing financial barriers to applying to medical school. The program subsidizes the OMSAS application service fee and application costs for up to three (3) Ontario medical schools for qualifying applicants. This program was collaboratively developed by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC), the Council of Ontario Faculties of Medicine (COFM), Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), and Price of a Dream.
