Tuition and ancillary fees

Fees for the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) School of Medicine include tuition and ancillary fees:

Tuition fees cover instructional and academic program costs and general operating costs of the university.

Ancillary fees support programs, services and facilities outside of academic programming. For example, support services, athletics, clubs, unions and more.

Tuition fees for the 2026-27 academic year are as follows and are subject to change annually:

  • In-province: $26,586.33
  • Out-of-province: $29,135.33

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

The TMU School of Medicine’s MD program is eligible for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

OSAP is a government financial aid program that can help students pay for post-secondary education. OSAP offers funding through grants (which are not repaid) or student loans (which are repaid after schooling is complete). When students apply for OSAP, they are automatically considered for both grant and loan funding.

The 2026/27 OSAP application period is expected to launch in Spring.

Awards and scholarships

The TMU School of Medicine is committed to excellence, inclusion, and expanding access to quality medical education through a robust scholarship and bursary program made possible by generous donors who recognize that investing in medical students is an investment in the future of health care in Canada.

Scholarships and awards come in many forms, with eligibility that can include academic excellence, community involvement, financial need, and more. Scholarships and awards help remove economic barriers to accessing education, shaping a medical profession that better reflects the diversity of Canada, and contributes to a stronger health care system.

Applicants who advance to the interview stage of the admissions selection process will be invited to apply for awards and scholarships.
