Audio Library

RTA students have unlimited access to thousands of tracks of production music and sound effects tracks for use in curricular and co-curricular projects.

All sound effects and production music found in these libraries are for the following uses and can be applied to student course work** or approved co-curricular work*** only:

  • Regional Broadcasting
  • On-line Streaming
  • Educational Use
  • North American Festivals

Productions requiring any clearances other than those noted above must be licensed separately at the prevailing rate card rates,  (PDF file) detailed here. License application forms will be supplied upon request of Westar Music. 

As a user of this library, you have an obligation to supply Westar with a completed Cue Sheet for each production that will be publicly performed (whether Broadcast or Theatrical) that details all music cues used in the production,  (PDF file) Cue Sheets can be downloaded here, and must be submitted to Westar in a timely manner.

**Internship classes are not covered by the terms of our agreement. Though technically a course, the agreement with internship providers is that they provide all tools, equipment and services a student requires to fulfill their commitments to the internship provided -- just as they do for any and all other employees who work for them. 

***Use of this library for RTA approved co-curricular initiatives like RUTV, SpiritLive, Rams Live, Global Campus Studios, etc. are covered by the terms of our agreement. Use of this library for paid or unpaid projects outside of those initiatives are not covered by the terms of our agreement. If you're unsure whether your use is approved, please check with Shawn Haswell, Manager of Operations and Administration for RTA.
