Minor in LGBTQ2S+ Studies

The LGBTQ2S+ Studies minor provides students with an interdisciplinary, intersectional approach to exploring the Canadian and international histories and cultures of LGBTQ2S+ identities. You’ll explore communities, anti-LGBTQ2S+ attitudes and actions, and strategies of LGBTQ2S+ resistance. The minor consists of 6 courses, including a required course from an approved list (such as Queer Theory, LGBTQ2S+ Histories, or Queer Sociology). A maximum of 2 courses per discipline may count towards the minor.

Research Resources

TMU Libraries

Explore the variety of 2SLGBTQ+ resources available through the TMU Libraries. Our directory provides descriptions of each floor of the main library, including location of gender neutral washrooms and details on lighting type, sound levels, accessibility features and more. The 2SLGBTQ+ Studies Research Guide takes you through all available resources to support your studies of the community and its history. There’s also a dedicated 2SLGBTQ+ and the Law Research Guide for a collection of law materials available through the Library.
