Course Action Request Form Used to request a change in course selection; to add or drop a course after the course selection has been submitted on MyServiceHub.
 (google doc) Plan of Study (external link)  For first year students in the MSc program to establish a plan and timeline for courses and non -course requirements in order to complete their degree requirements. To be completed in consultation with the supervisor or Graduate Program Director during the first term of study. 
 (google doc) Progress Review and Plan of Study (external link)  Used by students in their second term and beyond. The Progress Review and Plan of Study Update form is to be completed by the student and their supervisor(s) and is due at the end of the first month of the following term.  
 (google doc) Directed Studies Request (external link)  Used when a student is requesting to take the Directed Studies Course AM8209.
Checklist of Expectations for Graduate Student and Supervisor Used to confirm who the student's supervisor is and to ensure that both student and supervisor are aware of the expectations and responsibilities of each role. 
 (google doc) Guidelines to Scheduling Defence (external link)  Provides guidance and instruction to students prior to scheduling defence.
 (google doc) Oral/Examination/Defense Schedule Request (external link)    Used to request the schedule of an Oral Examination for a student who is ready to defend their thesis or MRP.
 (google doc) Report of the Oral Examining Committee (external link)  Used to report on the final decision of the oral examining committee.
Thesis, Major Research Paper and Dissertation Submission Guidelines   Provides guidance to students on formatting of their thesis or MRP.
Ryerson NLC form To be submitted with the final thesis or MRP.
 (PDF file) Major Research Paper Supervisor and Second Reader Report Used to report on the final decision of the Major Research Paper.

Program Specific Deadline Dates

  • Plan of Study Form: This is only required for First year students in their first term of study and is normally due in October. Deadlines can be found on the YSGPS significant dates calendar.
  • Progress Review and Plan of Study Update Form:  Used by students in their second term and beyond. To be completed by the student and their supervisor(s) and is due at the end of the first month of the following term.
  • Course Action Request Form: This form is due on or before the last date to add or drop a course.
  • Directed Studies Request Form: This form is due before the start of the term in which the student wishes to take the directed studies course.
  • Checklist of Expectations for Graduate Student and Supervisor Form: This form is to be completed before the end of the First Winter term (April) of the Student’s Registration.
