Biography

Zach is a proven digital creator and marketer of 5+ years combined in the gaming and esports space across design, photography, videography, and social media.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Oklahoma and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art, Technology, and Culture alongside a minor in Communication, where he honed his craft in digital media creation through experimental and practical experiences. During his undergraduate career, Zach held multiple leadership positions across campus, including Marketing Director for the OU Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation department. Zach led the department’s branding, including authorized use of the “OU” logo, created various multimedia assets for social media platforms, and helped elevate them from its original status as a student organization to a department under Student Affairs.

Why Digital Media?

Digital media fascinated me ever since I was a kid playing on my purple GameCube. Through graphic design, photography, videography and animation, I strive to utilize digital media to its full potential in a world where it has become increasingly paramount.

Major Research Paper

Designing Exclusive, Impactful Merchandise for Online Gaming Communities

My research focuses on apparel designed for online gaming communities. Currently, the gaming and esports industries offer a wide range of merchandise, but it mainly focuses on team-related items or designs aimed at younger audiences. However, there's a significant absence of apparel for older fans who are interested in specific games rather than teams. To address this, I employ sentiment analysis and game-related elements in designing apparel that caters to this target market.
